Before we go any further, we need to share an answer to prayer we have been waiting on for more than a year: Micaela has received her South African visa, which she applied for last August (2023). The country has been facing a massive backlog in visa applications, and as many of you are aware this has been a huge burden on us. We are extremely grateful for this response and continue to pray for the many others who are still in the waiting period for their applications. Thank God Micaela has a valid visa until the end of September 2026, a year longer than the original application date.
Apart from this exciting update, quite a lot has been happening in recent months.
At the beginning of August, Micaela had the opportunity to travel to Pretoria to meet with her Personnel Team. During this time she was also able to meet with the REACH (OM’s discipleship and equipping program) staff, students, and some of other the OM staff that live in the area. Its always great to connect face-to-face with those we often only see online.
August and September are always incredibly busy β our wedding anniversary is at the end of August, and both our birthdays are within the first two weeks of September. This year, we also managed to fit in a surprise visit from Micaela’s mom and brother during those weeks as well. It was totally unexpected for her, and we are really thankful for the time we were able to spend with them.

We are still actively involved with the youth ministry at Amalinda Baptist, and we are continually blown away by what God is doing there. We have seen growth not only in numbers but also spiritually.
As always, we are also involved in the annual Border Summercamp this year (11-14 December). This is an incredibly exciting event where the youth ministries from many churches in East London and further afield come together for a few days of fun, worshiping the Lord, and growing in their relationships with each other and with Him. We’re excited to be taking some of our teens along to this event.
Alongside all of these things, David continues to work part time to support our work in ministry. He is heading into the busiest part of the year, and trying to balance everything is always a challenge. We would appreciate your continued prayers and support regarding this.
