Celebrating What God Has Done

This season has been full of blessings and opportunities to serve. Here’s what’s been happening and how you can pray with us.

Church Life

This season has been full of meaningful moments for our local church. One of the most special events that Micaela helped to organise was the Seniors’ Tea, where the Young Adults and Youth got together to honour and bless the older members of the church. The event was beautifully set up with tea, treats, and heartfelt conversations. We even played games together, and it was so much fun to see the seniors’ competitive side come out!

Another highlight was our Christmas Party for children from local homes. It was a time of celebration filled with gifts, games, and festive cheer. Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas—sharing God’s love in practical ways.

Youth

Our youth group is growing and thriving! They’ve shown incredible creativity and servant-heartedness this year. One major highlight was the fundraiser they organised in order to put funds towards going to Summer Camp, featuring a photo booth and baked goods. The youth loved every moment and worked together beautifully.

We’re so thankful for how God is shaping this group into passionate leaders who love to serve.

Summer Camp

We still actively serve on the committee for Border Summer Camp. This year we have been part of a number of activities leading up to camp.

A few months ago, we hosted a camp promotional event for a number of youth groups at our church, which brought the whole congregation together in support. It was amazing to see everyone getting involved and excited about what God would do through camp.

David also had the privilege of promoting Summer Camp on Link FM, a Christian radio station. Sharing the vision on air was a great opportunity to reach a wider audience and invite more young people to experience this life-changing event.

Summer Camp happened from the 10-13 December. We had 250 teenagers attending. It was a great highlight to see a lot of leaders from different churches come together and serve faithfully. It was amazing to see how the Lord use each one of us and the impact He had on the lives of all the teens that attended.

Events

David continues to work in the event industry to raise finances for us. We have been encouraged by the fact that we are often able to serve in God honouring ways in this often secular environment.

Global Leadership Summit (GLS): In October, David served in the technical team at GLS East London, where he had the chance to learn, serve, and connect with leaders passionate about making a difference.

Local Heroes Event: This was a formal corporate event where David managed the entire technical program and logistics, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Micaela handled the visual and media presentation, coordinating slides, videos, and timing for the event. It was a privilege to use our skills in a professional setting and be a light in that environment.

Tree63 Tour: December is often full of music events, and one highlight from this season has been to work with South African Christian rock band “Tree63”. David recently spent 2 nights with the band, and was deeply encouraged by their faith and the way they shine their light through music.

These opportunities remind us that ministry isn’t limited to church walls—it’s about shining God’s light wherever He places us.

Personal Update

Micaela was able to renew her Portuguese driver’s license! This was a big answered prayer. God provided—someone generously donated to cover the expense, and we were able to get it sorted. We are so thankful for His provision and for those who blessed us in this way.

Micaela has also been facilitating online training for the personnel database, serving personnel officers around the world. Even though it has meant extra work, It’s been a joy to contribute in this way. We’re grateful for the opportunity to help equip others for effective ministry.

We’re also excited to share that we’ll be in Portugal from May to August! This trip will be a time of ministry and connection, and we’d love to see you if you’re nearby. Please reach out if you’d like to book some time with us—we’d love to catch up!

Prayer requests

We want to thank those who continually pray for us. These are some of the things that we are praying for at the moment:

  • Pray for the teenagers that went to Summer Camp—for them to continue to grow in their relathionship with God.
  • Pray for our Portugal trip planning—for open doors and fruitful ministry.

Not only are we praying for things, but also join us in giving thanks for the following:

  • Seniors’ Tea and the joy it brought to both young and old.
  • Praise Him for answered prayer regarding Micaela’s driver’s license—a generous donation made this possible!
  • For opportunities to serve at Local Heroes and GLS, using our skills to make an impact.
  • For our upcoming Portugal trip.
